ABOUT ME

As a Registered Social Worker, my goal is to utilize my education and experience coupled with compassion, intention and transparency to help my clients develop self-awareness and create lasting change.

My passion for being a therapist stems from my own intergenerational childhood trauma and the lack of mental health supports that were available to not only me, but my parents.

I have over 9 years experience working within the community assisting parents, youth and individual adults work through traumatic experiences, mental health challenges and general mental wellness.

MY EDUCATION AND THERAPEUTIC STYLE

I hold a Masters of Social Work from The University of Toronto. I am licensed under the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) in good standing.

I am trained in several methods of therapy, but primarily I use an approach that combines skills from Emotionally Focused Family Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness -Based Therapy and Somatic Therapy.

My approach is empathetic, person-centered, and non-judgmental.  I am committed to maintaining a practice that is anti-racist, anti-oppressive, 2SLGBTQ+ friendly and accessible to a broad range of clients.

I also am a Certified Yoga Teacher trained in therapeutic, alignment based yoga that focuses on proper positioning from the floor up to reduce injury and strain. I have specialization in Restorative, Yin and Hatha; focusing on the benefits of yoga on mental wellness and trauma.
