Meet Marlo Drago

Healing works best when the room feels warm and truly human.

Hi, I'm Marlo.

Therapist. Mom. Recovering perfectionist. Professional overthinker and believer in dropping an F-bomb, WFT and other words on the regular.

If you're here, there's probably a reason. Maybe you're exhausted from trying to keep everything together. Maybe you understand your patterns but can't seem to change them. Maybe you're the person everyone comes to when they need something—and you're starting to wonder who takes care of you. Or maybe you simply have a feeling that something needs to change. You don't need to know exactly what that is before you start therapy.

That's something we can figure out together.

Before you decide whether I’m your person

Here is who is actually in the room with you.

I’m a wife and a mom of two. I have lived my own childhood wounds and adult trauma, not just studied it. I’m a recovering perfectionist and a fully practising overthinker. I have no poker face, so you will always know what I’m thinking. I don’t speak in jargon. And I swear. I will hold space for you when you need it, and challenge you when you have the capacity.

Why EMDR therapy?
Over time, I've become particularly interested in the ways our earlier experiences can continue to influence our lives long after we're technically “over” them. Not digging endlessly into the past. But getting curious about where your patterns came from—and whether they still need to work this hard to protect you. After doing my own EMDR therapy for my own complex trauma I became determined to bring this therapeutic modality into my practice. I truly owe EMDR for my healing and being able to be the person I want to be, not the person I thought I had to be.

How I Work

I help you feel...

Seen. Heard. Understood.

Safe enough to finally feel it.

Because before you can work through any of it, you have to feel safe enough to stop managing it, controlling it and protecting it. That is what we build first, and everything else follows from there.

We'll talk. Sometimes we'll slow things down and get curious about what's happening in the moment. Sometimes we'll use EMDR. We won't rush you into processing something you're not ready for. The goal isn't to never struggle again. It's to understand yourself better, have more options, and feel less controlled by the patterns that brought you here. You don't have to have it all figured out. You can start with: “Something isn't working for me anymore.” That's enough. We'll start there.

Who I work with

  • Are high-functioning but completely exhausted.
  • Have spent years being the “responsible one.”
  • Automatically say yes and regret it later.
  • Have a very loud inner critic.
  • Struggle with boundaries and feel guilty saying no.
  • Are navigating burnout or the mental load of motherhood.
  • Want to understand themselves without constantly blaming themselves.
Marlo Drago, Trauma and EMDR therapist in Etobicoke

I am a Registered Social Worker and trauma therapist operating out of Etobicoke, Ontario. Since graduating with my Master of Social Work from the University of Toronto, I have spent over a decade supporting clients through complex challenges. My expertise spans EMDR, childhood trauma, anxiety, burnout, chronic pain, and attachment issues. I help people navigate the boundaries and cycles that stem from their past.
While my training is extensive, I believe the human connection matters most. You deserve a space where you can show up exactly as you are. No performances needed.

Ready to see if we're a good fit?

Finding a therapist is personal. I offer a free consultation so we can talk about what's bringing you to therapy and whether working together feels like the right fit. No pressure. No therapy audition. Just a conversation.
