Your Trauma & EMDR Therapist

Therapy for teens, adults and groups in the Old Weston Village Neighborhood of Toronto. Online Therapy available throughout Ontario.

Empowering You to Thrive Beyond Trauma.

I help people heal from past experiences that continue to impact their thoughts, emotions, and relationships. Together, we work to reduce anxiety, build self-trust, and create a greater sense of calm, safety, and connection.

Why Work with Marlo Drago Therapy

Clients choose to work with me because I offer more than just clinical expertise—I bring warmth, lived experience, and a deep understanding of what it means to heal.

As someone who has walked through my own trauma and come out the other side, I create a space that feels safe, compassionate, and empowering.

My approach blends evidence-based therapy with a grounded, human connection, helping you feel seen, supported, and capable of real change.

Whether you're carrying anxiety, old wounds, or emotional overwhelm, we'll work together to help you feel more like you again.

SOUND FAMILIAR?

I have a strong inner critic and overthink a lot.

You try to make the “right” choice, but doubt creeps in, and the past feels like it’s still calling the shots.

I have walls up to protect me from getting hurt, but these walls keep me isolated.

You want to feel close to others, but anxiety, fear of rejection, or old patterns make it hard to fully open up.

I feel like I am carrying my past like a weight attached to my body.

Whether it’s emotional pain, burnout, or self-doubt, something inside you is still asking to be healed.

At Marlo Drago Therapy, I help people understand the impact of the past, build emotional safety, and create lasting change—so you can feel calm, confident, and truly yourself.

  • What should I expect during my first therapy session?
During your first therapy session, we will discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, your goals, and any concerns or questions you may have. This initial session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and for you to ask any questions about the therapy process.
  • What is your confidentiality policy?
All aspects of client involvement will be held in utmost confidence in accordance with the ethical guidelines and standards of practice set out by the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. Personally identifiable information regarding clients is not discussed or disclosed, directly or indirectly, without the prior consent of the client. There are a few situations in which I am legally obliged to break confidentiality in order to protect the safety of a client or another individual. These include:• Risk of harm to self or another person• Suspected child abuse or neglect for a minor under the age of 16 (I am legally obligated to report to Children’s Aid Society under the Child and Family Service Act)• A court of law subpoenas clinical records regarding an incident (if possible, I will contact you before releasing any information).

  • What do your rates cover?
At Marlo Drago Therapy, our rates reflect the specialized and high-quality services we provide, particularly in Trauma and Polyvagal EMDR therapy. Our pricing is based on several critical factors: 1. Specialized Expertise: Our therapists are highly trained and certified in Trauma and Polyvagal EMDR, ensuring that you receive the most effective treatment tailored to your specific needs. 2. Continued Education: We invest in ongoing education and training to stay current with the latest research and therapeutic practices. This commitment enhances the quality of care we offer. 3. Personalized Attention: Each session is customized to address your unique situation, promoting a more effective and efficient healing process. 4. Operating Costs: Our rates also take into account the operational costs of running a professional and compliant practice in Ontario, including administrative support, office space, and necessary materials. We believe that our rates reflect the value of the expert, personalized care you will receive at Marlo Drago Therapy. Our goal is to provide the highest standard of therapy to help you on your journey toward healing and well-being.
  • Do you offer EMDR Intensives?
Yes, I offer EMDR intensives. An EMDR intensive is a focused, extended therapy session designed to help you move through trauma more efficiently than in traditional weekly sessions. Instead of meeting for 50 minutes once a week, we spend several hours together in one day (or over a few days) to allow for deeper healing without interruption. This format is ideal if you’re feeling stuck, want to address a specific issue more quickly, or prefer to work through trauma at a faster pace. Intensives include preparation, nervous system regulation, EMDR reprocessing, and grounding—all tailored to your goals and capacity. Clients often find this approach deeply transformative, saying it allows them to make more meaningful progress in a shorter period of time while feeling fully supported throughout. Intensives can be half - day, full day or 90minute sessions multiple times a week.
  • Do you use AI notetaking?
Yes. With consent from my client, I use an AI notetaking software to write my session notes. Clients are able to revoke consent to this at any time. With this software, sessions are listened to and summarized. There are NO STORED RECORDINGS of the sessions.

  • How often are sessions?
I recommend starting with weekly or bi-weekly sessions to establish momentum and build a strong foundation for your progress.
  • Do you offer in-person or virtual and which is more effective?
I currently offer virtual sessions for people residing within Ontario. In 2026 - I plan to start offering in-person sessions 1 day a week. Research shows that both in-person and online therapy are equally effective, so the choice depends on your personal preferences and circumstances. Online therapy offers flexibility and convenience, breaking down barriers to accessing skilled therapists while allowing you to connect from the comfort and safety of your home—especially helpful when discussing sensitive or distressing topics. In contrast, in-person therapy may be ideal if you prefer face-to-face interaction, benefit from a structured environment, or find grounding techniques particularly effective in a physical setting. All the types of therapy we offer can be accessed through either option, ensuring you have the support that suits you best.
  • Can I reschedule my appointment? and what is your Cancellation Policy?
Individual Therapy: Your appointment time is saved especially for you. If you are unable to attend the session, I require at least 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule the appointment. Missed appointments with less than 24 hours of notice will be charged at the full fee. This includes appointments that are made same-day. I am only able to waive the cancellation fee if there is a medical emergency requiring hospitalization, a death in the family, or a natural disaster. Please contact me at hello@marlodrago.com to discuss rescheduling. Group Therapy: Attending group therapy is a commitment to attend all 6 sessions. As such any missed sessions will be charged the full fee of $110. I am only able to waive the cancellation fee if there is a medical emergency requiring hospitalization, a death in the family, or a natural disaster.
